Boots, with spurs or spikes should be durable and weather proof. Body protective gear such as helmets, gloves, shoulders, elbows and knees protectors. There are belts you can wear around the waist which also serve as tool holders at the same time. Ropes should be durable and made of materials that prevent rope burns on trees. Clamps, latches and other accessories are necessary to assist you in ascending and descending ropes during your climb. Buy a harness made of sturdy leather and materials. This is essential when you are hanging from branches of tall trees and it supports your weight as you climb. Tool kits can be purchased from stores or on the internet. These kits come complete with all the tools (e.g. saw, axe, picks, etc) you will need in tree climbing.

There are many brands you can choose from in buying your gear. But bottom-line, chose a brand known for its reliability and quality.
